Correction. Neither party is based in reality.

If you view the connection to reality as spectrum or continuous function rather than a discrete state, the Republicans are clearly more out of touch with reality.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

No, the dems have different problems. As it stands, however, it's like they're the more rational republican party while the actual republicans are...insane. To say that they're equally out of touch with reality is to minimize just exactly how fucked up it is that, for instance, Rick Santorum is a GOP candidate.

    It's called pro-choice rather than pro-abortion for a reason.

I hate that supporting women's right to choose what happens in their uterus and granting human rights to humans that happen to be gay as being too controversial for Democrats and Republicans to vocally support.

Seems highly unlikely that the two would wind up perfectly balanced.

I think these two have it right.

I've no problem with human rights or choice.

Here's my post again so you can read it this time:

In so far as both parties remain hard core capitalists they're both out of touch.

The rest of the differences I consider to be objectively window dressing. Its easier for the supposed "left" because of them their agendas are "be nice" vagueness which sells.

that's why politics are so tainted, because everyone can be put into a box of leftist or liveral or whatever, and everyone has their own personal bias on that "type" of person. It's a complex steryotype.

'pro-life' and 'pro-choice' are a lot vaguer semantically.
The proper terms are pro-choice and anti-choice
