That was the point of the comment.

I don't know who he is. Never heard of him in any capacity until now.

What? The Fed is accelerating inflation. What the Fed is (supposedly) stopping is currency manipulation by private banks. The Fed doesn't inflate the money supply, then rapidly deflate it, like banks have done in the past.

The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Some inflation is good!

(I just thought that might need to be pointed out!)

Enough inflation to keep up with population increases, sure. The CPI is a joke.

NO, the Fed seeks to MODERATE inflation because inflation is inevitable, but we don't want it to go all bumfuck and screw up our economy like a Russian whore trying to buy a loaf of bread with a wheelbarrel of silver. The Fed exists not becauase of some dumbass gold standard, or some ideological attatchment to the US dollar, it exists because capitalism is a beautiful fucking black Spanish stallion that lets passion guide it's strides, much like the posters on this forum.

And no, the fed's job is NOT CURRENCY CONTROL. Godammit you people cannot afford to be this ignorant - governments cannot CONTROL currency because capital is a psychological construct. IT IS TOTALLY OUT OF THIER CONTROL. It just sets a percentage point on the totem pole so the fucking banks and subsequent investors don't start shitting thier pants and withdrawing funds whenever arbitrary spikes slap you in the face and leave the entire world wondering "why o why can't I buy a load of bread?"

Holy fuck, in a forum that is supposed to be swarmed with S and J's, you people have a lot to learn about equilibrium and stability. I don't like being beligerant, but your acumen should serve you better.

You aren't big on subtlety, are you. Insulting the populace is hardly likely to win you many arguments, just a short sharp trip to ignore city, arizona.

It isn't "totally out of their control", it can be guided and manipulated.. mostly with market sentiment... as a result of government actions. You are quite right that it isnt actively controlled or managed as if it were on balance sheet, though.
