    Who ever claimed that?

This is really terrible, and the sad thing about it is that I'm quite sure a big chunk of Nebraskans would vote for such a law if it were ever put up.

I read it last night but it's even uglier in the light of day.

I was thinking that this morning.

Such behavior would not be acceptable within the mainstream population, and so it shouldn't be acceptable within the minorities either. People are people. I'm flabbergasted that it's even a question.

I recently read about a study showing that people in the US generally distrust atheists more than Christians distrust Muslims.

So it does not pay off to have no morals after all (at least when others know about it).

Just a side note, the large majority of Arab-Americans are Christian.

Also, holy shit, someone in Australia got away with murder because of 'gay panic'!? That's the type of thing you'd expect from a country with 'honor-killing' defenses as part of the legal code, not Australia.

I would expect any large demographic to harbor some assholes willing to do such a thing.

What are we to do now?

At least there's still much of western Europe and Canada.
