Alright...well, that's not really what I was referring to.

Though I don't know how somebody of your persuasion can claim to share his political views either. The man was a self-proclaimed socialist.

    I agree with that.

Guy had a poor attitude, I sometimes think that if the left and right Hitchens brothers could have been fused into a single person they would have been a human being.

The best I can manage is to say that it is a sorry thing for his family that he has passed away.

Did I say I shared his political views?

He said he thought she was "sexy."

I think he mostly admired that she was tough and confrontational.

I don't know if he didn't agree with her positions, either, though.

    Yes, he was a Trotskyite.

Any fool with an internet connection can go to his wikipedia page and read as much.

I think the truth, though, is that he wouldn't align himself with any political ideology.

I know, near the end, he said he was a Leftist, but, well, it seemed like a token...

In reality, he was largely politically uncategorizable, which is why I admire him.

Yeah, he said in his memoir that he had to admit, however much he disliked the idea at the time, that she was right about some things.

You are correct that it would be wrong to categorize him strictly as a leftist.

Agreed. I always pictured a glass of scotch and a cigarette smoking in an ashtray off camera.

So let me get this straight this guy was a militant atheist who abandoned his socialist values to embrace neo-conservative foreign policy and he was also a homosexual who liked to mix it up with one of the most savage conservative administrations in modern british history?

He's beginning to sound like someone I would perfectly hate.

Why do you think I loved him so much?

Also, you reveal here (once again) your tendency to gain a very tenuous grasp of a subject, and then proceed to judge, judge, judge based on your weak understanding.

Also, I'm not sure if you're aware, but the above made you sound like an anti-homosexual bigot.
