    Default Come September

Have any of you heard or read Arundhati Roy's "Come September" speech?

It was given in Sante Fe, NM on September 18th, 2002.

She gives her perspective on the historical context of the conflicts in the Middle East, globalization, the "War on Terror", and so on.

    As the video description says:

Roy speaks poetically to power on the US' War on Terror, globalization, the misuses of nationalism, and the growing chasm between the rich and poor. With lyricism and passion, Roy combines her literary talents and encyclopedic knowledge to expose injustice and provide hope for a future world.
    What do you guys think?

Can't fault her on most of her U.S. foreign policy points, but she is also a rabid anti-globalization goon, and I can't get behind that at all. We need more goods, money, people, and ideas crossing borders, not less.

I only wish my dial-up wasn't so slow and erratic.

    If it's anything like watching C-SPAN... O.o

I really don't think that's what the anti-globalization movement objects to.

    DIAL-UP?!?!?!

Is that like a brand of soap or something?

And maybe a little like C-SPAN, but I find her voice and words very hypnotic and poetic, especially all the little non-political insights into human beings she has sprinkled in her speech.
