We could have supported the protests that happened there awhile back, and may have ended up with another Libya (you decide if that's good or not). That's a giant mess itself, but it's funny that people don't even mind a bigger mess that would be created from "bombing". lol.

I guess it'd work if you were actually commited to it (which we are not), but it doesn't help anyone in Iran, for sure. You'd end up creating even worse enemies that way probably.

    Here's what you do.
    Collect all the nuclear weapons.
Shell them out equally to all governments.
Mandate that all governments must disarm their nukes.

Anyone who disagrees get's nuked by all the other countries.

    Problem solved.

    Yes, yes, yes.

That's why I mentioned actions vs words.

Ever since Obama took office, the Administration has been trumpeting the "great cooperation" of Russia and China on this effort. And then Russia and China have dragged their feet the entire way on every effort aimed at actually preventing Iran from getting the bomb. The fact of the matter is, America's enemies (Russia, China, Venezuela, North Korea) all know that Iran getting a bomb is a major blow to American power. The day Russia and China stop dragging their feet and show a concerted and continued effort to halt the Iranian program, is the day I *might* starting believing them on this matter.
Russia and China emphasize diplomacy rather than sanctions. Whether a different form of pressure doesn't align with the U.S. view of how to handle global affairs, doesn't mean they're dragging their heels or that they don't agree with the U.S. that Iran shouldn't be allowed to have nuclear weapons. Not every country believes that preemptive attacks constitute how global politics should be handled. Preemptive attacks on misinformation is EXACTLY what got the U.S. into a useless/costly invasion of Iraq.

Do you truly doubt that the Iranians are trying to build a nuclear weapon?

    That doesn't answer my question.

(And I happen to agree with you on that one.)

So learn from the invasion of Iraq. No more preemptive attacks unless U.N. sanctioned.
