    Pancake syrup is basically corn syrup, with a few flavorings plus or minus a few ingredients.

    Maple Syrup is of course around 96% sucrose, and the rest water.

    I think one part of the HFCS and fat people may be that people who are not conscious of their health tend to eat those foods.

    They HFCS may not be a factor in the obesity.

    However, like you said prplchnz, It makes me feel sick too.

    Few holes in the trees, a lot of heat, and shazam....homemade syrup....

    Just don't use the hemlock tree.

    Nice thought, but it ain't gonna work.

    High fructrose and the like is too deeply entrenched in America's food industry to be really affected by something like a paltry window display. Tackling obesity is going to require both a system and mentality overhaul, neither of which I've seen as of now.

    How about we replace the employer provided health care insurance system with a more open market based system where health care insurance providers are chosen by individuals (other western countries already do this), then pass a law allowing insurance companies and the public health system to charge significant penalties for those who are obese due to lifestyle choices, along with those who smoke etc.

    um the already charge more for smokers and fat people, it doesn't really help. at least mine does and I'm on TennCare which is bluecross blueshield and magellan
