    I would say that generally states are more similar than they are different. That does not mean that the differences aren't profound.

    Germany was a big centre during the humanist and romantic reactions to the enlightenment, its a shame that those things are forgot. There was a German Jew who refered to the reich as a utopian idea of universal brotherhood rather than ethno-nationalist dreams.
