    Maybe they don't like you?

Why? What if customers want it hot? Should everyone's choice be limited just to protect a careless minority?

    Yes

If I go to a restaurant and spill something on myself, I don't want my dick to burn off

Some people might find that appealing, I am not one of them

They'll like me even less when I sue them for a million bucks.

They aren't careless though. Everyone spills drinks. The result shouldn't be skin grafts.

"Hot" should not mean unreasonably dangerous.

Fun fact: many years ago (think early 1900s) products did not often have their ingredients listed

Today they always do. In fact, they even have special labels specifically for allergens

Fun fact: not so many years ago, McDonalds served coffee at temperatures of 185 degrees Fahrenheit

    Today they do not

Are we getting better as the years go by, or are we getting worse?

Some might argue that consumers are well-protected today, but I believe that there is much progress to be made

My father worked with a man whose son had a severe peanut allergy. One night he and a group of his friends ordered some food. He specifically asked if there were any peanuts or peanut products. The restaurant said there were none.

    He died that night.

    Who is at fault?

Considering how much coffee is sold, the percentage of significant injury is exceedingly small.

Restricting choices is not necessarily better.
