As politicians go, I like him. He doesn't parrot talking points, which differentiates him from 99% of his peers in the US. He's independent and a true believer, with a long record to prove it. I disagree with his politics but I like having him around.

Ron Paul is a hypocrite and a bigot. His stances are anti-abortion and anti-gay rights.

I really don't understand what people see in other ideologies.
Don't you want freedom? Do you honestly believe that grown adults should be some rich man's bitch? Dont you realise that the government isnt the source of servility?
I really don't understand what people see in non-socialist ideologies.

Considering how he's pro capital punishment and pro laissez-faire market, the dude's all over the map. Apparently his hypocratic oath = hypocritical oath.

Yeah, that seems to be the shit part.

If those other things would only just come in an anti-capitalist format.

Should amend Freudian slip on Hippocratic oath, rather than hypocratic oath.

I don't consider Ron Paul a bigot, as he does support gay marriage, as long as it doesn't impose itself on anyone else. Fear doesn't necessarily mean intolerance, and neither does being in support of the traditional family and religion.
He is pro-life, and is a little too-involved there for my tastes.
I like him more than I like most politicians. Of course, I am a little "grassroots" myself, so it makes sense.

Eh, I don't know about that. When asked if he thought gay people should be allowed to marry, he said, "Sure. They can do whatever they want and call it whatever they want." He thinks that the federal government should be taken entirely out of the marriage equation (it should be the purview of "the church or private contract.")

    Not completely accurate.

He does believe that the Federal government should stay out of the decision for same-sex marriages. But he also supports the right for States to refuse to recognise same-sex marriages or unions from other States. In other words, he believes States right should trump everything else, which would allow more conservative States to retain their bigotry.
