I have heard nothing about this, I'm surprised at the lack of coverage too because I consider grievance at the undemocratic nature of the financial system to be one of the last remaining major political issues or topics of our time.

Like @jixmixfix said, I'm not surprised given the interests of our corporate press.

This is true perhaps but even they cover stories like this if it sells and they can portray the protests in a certain light, there's been a complete media black out on it. Considering the amount of coverage that the disturbances across the arab world are receiving every day it is curious.

precisely! cnn finally put a story about this up. but they basically had Michael Moore as the spokesman. i think this is the light they chose to portray the protests in. he's so hated by many, that it would give little validation to what these people are doing.

Yeah, somtimes I think Moore's rise to prominence in the first place is explicable by the right knowing they'd be able to use him eventually as a hate figure.

A lot of the coverage of opposition to the cause of the present financial troubles and global mess reminds me of how popular kids or an in crowd discuss or view outsiders. It's highly effective most of the time. There's many a quarter, in the US at least, where political discourse has been reduced to people repeating "they dont get it" or "you dont get it" or something along those lines.
