This is a dodge. I want your explanation of what has happened over the past 50 years that fewer people have health insurance now that the government spends almost half of the money that goes to healthcare.

Yeah and you know that charity is not really accomplished through coercive means, as was explained by St. John earlier? So again, how is socialised medicine in accordance with Christ's teachings?

That's because you can't wrap your mind around the concept that people as intelligent and informed or more intelligent and informed might disagree with you. I can guarantee you that you've never been as broke as I was the first year I lived in Los Angeles. I lived in the inner city of Philadelphia for five years. I volunteered at a transitional living facility for formerly homeless people. When you post stuff like this, you seem like a complete tool. Just stop.

It's not a dodge at all. WHY ISN'T IT ALREADY WORKING?

ALL YOU RICH FUCKERS ARE CHRISTIANS AND CARE OH SO MUCH?

    WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING?

    I'm just keeping it real.

    Fuck this bullshit.

We live in one the wealthiest nations in the entire world, but we have one of the highest poverty levels of any first world nations, and have the worst health insurance coverage.

There's no excuse for it, except that people are LYING about what their values actually are...or they're CONFUSED...or HYPOCRITES.

This occurrence has often been modeled as healthcare being composed by a lower minimum threshold plus a variable part based on the size of the population. With a smaller population, the minimum threshold is enough to guarantee coverage for a larger percentage of subjects. When size increases, less and less people are covered by the fixed amount, and prices rise.

    I agree.

They're going about it the wrong way... Maybe churches, private individuals, businesses, etc should step it up and start competing with the governments by providing better healthcare for the needy. They do, on a small, disorganized scale, but I'm not convinced they can keep up with the increased demand if the government were to get out of the healthcare game.

Any change that comes too quick will leave a lot of people out in the cold. People don't like being out in the cold, so they'll come to your house looking for warmth.

Oh okay you're one of the Ron Paulites.

You really believe that if we're all libertarians we're all gonna be as nice as you.

    My apologies.

I think, in retrospect, the point at which this thread went to crap was when people started saying things like "Once again I agree with Victor."
