What does this sex scandal business have anything to do with anything? People are making big deals out of nothing.

That typically has not been the way that Obama has run his campaign in the past, either. Although I've seen the hardcore 'pubs handle it that way. (Like the late great Atwater.)

If he's enough of a homosexual to have this past, I'm surprised he got as far as he did among the conservative base.

I guess you didn't grow up in a conservative, churchy Repub context: They've cooled a bit since the culture wars have shifted, but especially before support for gay couples went up in the culture, it was all about the Gay Agenda and how they were trying to undermine the country and God in the USA. I got so tired of hearing it. There was no way an openly gay person would have received support from the religious right wing. And even the private gay circles -- when Christian singer Jennifer Knapp (I think it was her) was rumored to be gay, it really hit her sales hard and it was amazing HOW many people were circling the rumors and advising not to buy her stuff, and when she came out, of course it was scandalous. Although the culture, again, has shifted, which has helped; her audience was more open the parents of her audience.

That's why you I said it should be done through a PAC. If it's a third party it can be Democratically affiliated without the administration having to officially approve whatever its message is, and therefore avoid getting its hands dirty.

There is no way they keep that affiliation secret, and they would be blasted unmercifully. The Obama Administration is simply not equipped for Nixonian/Clintonian-style dirty tricks.

I personally wouldnt vote for a homosexual, I'm heterosexual and dont believe that any homosexual could represent that.

On the other hand this guy seems entirely and totally corrupt, publically avowing and saying one thing and doing another, that lack of consistency is worrying because he's either a total liar or experiencing total cognitive dissonance and has gotten into a position where he can handle it. I think either would exclude them from being someone I'd consider a good candidate for public office and they'd not get my vote.

2, 6, and 7 are awful. I'd wholeheartedly support 3, 4, and 5, and I'd consider 1. I also would amend the Constitution to make passage of a law require a 2/3rd majority in both houses, while a repeal of a previous bill would only require a simple majority. It should be easier to get rid of a law than it is to pass it.
#2 is stupid. There's already a process in place to overrule the Supreme Court. It's called an amendment to the Constitution.
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."
