married couples get legal benefits that people in a civil union can't, so it's not useless. and i agree, that's not the goal of the state. but equal rights and seperation of church and state are.

    That's pure whining.

Homosexuals have the same rights than straight. And what is the church coming here?

i didn't come here to convince anyone, i mean obviously i'm in the majority on this forum, plenty of people can do that for me. i'm saying your argument makes no sense, because you're saying gay marriage is useless and has no purpose, but then neither would straight marriage. so marriage just shouldn't exist as a legal institution at all. which i guess would be fine, but why should it exist straight people and nobody else?

I was gonna say, Speed seems very much like an INTJ to me. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks so

You have to prove that gay marriage would be an improvement. That's all.

would you mind if I clarified your disagreement? it sounds to me like your main disagreement is one of definition. you support civil union for homosexuals but you don't support gay marriage because it goes against the definition of marriage? is this right (I pullled a stereotypical ENFP and only skimmed your posts, so please correct me if I'm wrong)
