It doesnt sound anything like the politbureau.

It does sound like the UK house of lords, the US is coming to resemble the UK before the decline of empire more and more.

Why not just have one person make all these decisions?

Why do we even need 12?

I bet we could get something done if it was all up to just one person.

    Oligarchy? YEAH RIGHT.

Committees are created all the time in congress and they are broken up just as often.

Not only that, even if the committee hammers out a plan, it still needs to go to Congress before it can be passed.

The only thing that is missing is that this bill won't be layered by traps by the house or the senate like tabling this particular bill.

    Try harder.

Yea right, that seems highly unlikely to put traps in a bill on yes or no votes, to a congress which doesn't read the bills or, heh have to pass a bill to read it

This committee is only being formed to oversee the implementation of the promised budget cuts.

Someone please set me straight concerning the beginning of this little video: Is it a bipartisan compromise now actually a bad thing (i.e. the infamous 'Super Congress')?
    IN SERIO FATVITAS.

Yeah that's American politics, things get infinitely worse when the two parties decide to agree to something.

There are no budget cuts, it's only cuts in increased spending programs
