He could just kick the child in the face. That would shut it up.

Just saying, he could, it's totally an available option!

You're right, it's a totally valid option. If he wants to go to jail for assulting a minor that is.

How about an actual rebuttal as opposed to a catchy one liner?

Or I don't know, maybe the next time someone is in a food store with a crying kid, they could, I don't know, use their own experience with kids to effectively deal with the situation with minimal harm? Like an adult who knows how to calm down upset children, or someone who could offer potential advice to the adult who may lack certain knowledge on how to control the kid. Or they could just deal with it.

If he gets caught. Kick hard enough, he might not.

Why should people have to just "deal with it"? What is your grounds for this? I can see if it is a family member, the child of the person you are dating, or of course your own child (that goes without saying).

I think there should be kid-friendly places, mixed places for everybody, and adult places. There's nothing unreasonable about people not wanting to be around children who they are not related to.

Because a kid crying is nothing more than a slight inconveneince and doesn't warrent banishment from a mass number of business facilities. I mean, I can understand a 'no kid' policy on a first class airline flight, or movie, or a fancy resturant, that's fine. Banning kids from regular resturants, and other various social locations however is going to far, and I don't think that many 'child-friendly' locations would arise to counterbalance the number of businesses that would ban children entirely, as many people who don't have kids don't really care about kids.

What fact? That you'd seriously hit a crying kid in public to shut him up?

If you would seriously hit an adult why would you not seriously hit a future adult?
