Tom Harris captures (LINK) the mood on the left…

“…the palpable relief that swept through the left when the identity of the terrorist was made known – a 32-year-old Norwegian christian fundamentalist – was revealing. Here, thank God, was a terrorist we can all hate without equivocation: white, christian and far right-wing. Phew.”

Neither the sociopath nor psychopath diagnosis is present in DSM-IV. I know that because I have a copy of DSM-IV on the bookshelf next to me. I'm using it as a general term for a person that lacks empathy because of a disorder.

If you got to pick a diagnosis from out of either ICD-10 or DSM-IV, what would you refer to him as, given the info we know. Antisocial personality disorder, Narcissistic personality disorder or what?

I would not be surprised if Anders Behring Breivik studied and is inspired by Timothy McVeigh.

I think it is a mistake to call hm a terrorist because it tends to make invisible those who have an organised program to terrorise society for political purposes..

Default Most Unpopular Post on this Forum Ever

I am about to make the most unpopular post on this forum ever since it started.

I cannot sympathise with the actions of the individual; however, I can understand the key points to the rationale as it were:

    • There is no point calling democracy democracy when politicians routinely ignore the will of the people
    • The will of the people on this has been very clear for some time: multiculturalism is bunk.
    • The state can't ignore the local and national *community cohesiveness* agenda
    • As I have said on several occasions, this is exactly why the EU is a failure; it is a political structure based not of the people or for the people but by a political ruling class.
    • The traditional way of ending elitist systems in history has been revolution, not evolution.

The problem; he wasn't a revolutionary, or a terrorist, merely a gun wielding maniac.

The bigger problem; if politicians to do not listen to voters and instead force solutions onto their populations (see Greece, see UK) then you will see more right wing/nationalist viewpoints in Europe.

Speaking as a Scottish nationalist (where finally we have a parliament even if not independence) at least we seem to have people taking our views into account. However, if people do not have faith in their politics they will only wait for change for so long, when is the tipping point?

I know one thing. Our friend Anders better mind his soap while he's in prison.

He's gotta pretty mouth for a mass murder.
And so long as you haven’t experienced this: to die and so to grow,
you are only a troubled guest on the dark earth
