Politics is not a lost cause, in fact it is very profitable.

IDK, the more politics I hear, the less interested I become. Same shit, different year, different war.

Well first of all, bro, the cold war wasn't officially over until 1991 when the Soviet Union collapsed, so whatever deep and philosophical point you were attempting to make about communism is lost on me, hence the face.

Secondly, it's laughable to suggest that there have been no global or national politics because of the spread of the free market. I swear sometimes that you live in a complete fantasy world.

Especially when the market is a form of politics.

Imagine a 15-year-old kid. They're just becoming aware of a world outside themselves, realizing there's a larger world of people out there who wake up every day to war, filth, deprivation. What reason could you honestly give that kid for even caring, to read the news, learn about world affairs, vote, speak out about injustice-- much less dedicate his or her life to changing it? What reason do people coming into the world today have to even care about it when their power to fix anything is infinitesimal?

Politics is like sex or money or cheap fiction, it passes the time, you cant take it with you, sometimes its awesome even if the rest of the time its shite.

Lets keep it. Along with God, Guns and Heterosexuality!!! Hoooyahhh!!

It is hardly limited to that.
When you purchase something you are literally voting with your money. The problem however is just like voting - the decision is rarely rational as the amount of relevant information exceeds our capacity to access and process it. When you purchase something, you are essentially agreeing with all the decisions that went into producing it, not just directly in terms of wages and resource usage, but also indirectly in supporting political trends in the relevant economies.

Oh I forgot about Sting. He's not only a good looking guy from the 80s, I thought he was the archetype of perfect man for several years.
