Some people want other people to do something. Some people want other people to not do something. Not everyone can be happy, but a decision has to be made. Politics is all about making a decision that will piss a bunch of people off. Even if you avoid the question altogether, you effectively make a decision that pisses a bunch of people off.

Fortunately for you, you don't hold a political office, and I assume you don't intend to pursue one.

Hah! Too much of that got-dang book learnin!

Well, look, I think you were the one that started directing the focus to your personal qualities. So veering away from that, my points still stand that evidence shows humans can come to accept some pretty fucked-up shit if it is common practice in the cultural context they are exposed to.

Let's just agree to disagree on this one.
    I basically repeat the above.

Agreeing to disagree seems strange in this circumstance, since this appears to be a voluntary public debate.

I mean, is there really no way to numb the baby at all when clipped? Even slightly? Maybe they could make anesthesia requirements, or at least use numbing cream if they don't already. Not that it'd do anything.

NOT trolling, this is a serious question. Because otherwise, what would all the hubbub be about? It'd be like getting a haircut or trimming nails (that don't grow back).

Your habit of pointing out people's MBTI functions makes me want to erupt too..

It's very freeing when you start seeing functions as objective things rather than compliments or insults.

I had to go through that process, too, but I think it's absolutely imperitive if you're gonna keep studying type theory.

Don't laugh. It's called "Ivory Tower Syndrome" and it often happens when people don't balance theory with experience or practical intelligence.

It annoys the crap out of me too.

Not necessarily directed at you, so I don't mean I'm backing Disco up in his specific sentiments toward you as an individual, but YES there are people who are way to in books and not nearly enough in life, and vice versa.

Mutilating the bodies and psyches of children in the name of God

I am irrevocably opposed to the mutilation of the psyches of children, so naturally I am opposed to the physical mutilation of children. Even if this mutilation is done in the name of God. In a way, this makes it worse for they then think it is alright to mutilate the children's psyches.

We abolished institutional slavery in 1833 and women gained their emancipation in the first part of the 20th century, and today we are stopping the physical mutilation of children and tomorrow we will stop the mutilation of their psyches.

You use them only when trying to undermine people. There is a pattern. Use your Ne, you'll see it. (<-- SEE, SEE!?)
