    Default TV vs. The Internet

Which is the more revolutionary or significant TV or The Internet? Why?

Obviously internet, because it is multi-functional.

Lately though I have been watching more TV and movies, in an effort to remember what humans are like :p

The Internet, for the simple yet significant reason that it's not nearly as closely restricted as the TV.

We need criteria. How much did each revolution affect peoples' actions? What implications are there for time management? What legal repercussions did each help form? How many users emerge? How quickly did the concept move towards reality? How does each influence people? And to what degree? What duration of exposure moves more information in a finite amount of time?

I'd say TV was more revolutionary when it came out. The Internet has had a bigger impact on business though.

I wasn't around when TV came out though, so I'm guessing.

Oh all that, its deliberately open.

If you think about it radio had a huge propaganda and social impact, think of Orson Well's War of The Worlds broadcast alone, Cinema and then TV similarly with the rise of totalitarianism and the media age, the internet may be an advent of hypermedia but its more than likely its in reality just going to be eclipsed by porn, trolls, nerdy niche socially exclusive in groups, its a kind of collosal cyber ID or psyhic shadow.

I think perhaps the internet's social impact is incomplete, it will have an impact on socialisation, skills development and culture which isnt clear yet and anyone making predictions finds them out of date the minute they are made but I think TV has been fundamentally more significant.

The impact on literacy, social life and the development of media messages alone is greater, TV is still the opinion and trend setter.

    The Internet.

It's basically a revolution of the information media and the state of society as we know it.

TV is basically the movie theatre inside a box, with commercials.

I'd say it's pretty hard to accurately measure. TV wins hands down in terms of longevity and is probably still the easiest way to spread information through different age demographics, but the internet wins through the consolidating the best features of several different mediums into one relatively easily accessible medium.
