I personally love the latitude that my gov't allows me, in being able to determine what is best for me and my needs. It belies a trust of the gov't in it's people that I think is absent most other places in the world.
It raises my hackels any time the gov't surplants my decision making process with its own on the grounds that it knows whats best for me to a greater extent than I do.
Your representative owes you, not his industry only, but his judgment; and he betrays, instead of serving you, if he sacrifices it to your opinion.
- Edmund Burke
