    Nic is also quite intelligent.

    Which I admire.

Nic has this utterly unshakeable confidence that he knows what's best for Nic and he also happens to know what's best for all of us of course, and if we would only allow him to arrange our lives according to his way of doing things we would inevitably thank him, eventually, for sharing his wisdom with the world at large.

In that way he really rather reminds me of this fellow:

It would persuasively explain why 'guns for nobody' is better than 'guns for everybody'. I already said that I am not in a position to say what exactly it would have to do.

Because it has learned that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

I have not founded a country yet, though.

Luckily I think I am positioning myself in a better place than anyone else on this forum to influence the US gun debate (working on the hill) than anyone else here.

It's easy to talk the talk.

Much harder to walk the walk.

I, on the other hand, am a Carolina redneck of the cold-dead-fingers persuasion.

It's easy to suggest things if you don't have to put together a way to effect them in reality. Don't be that guy.

Because it has learned that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
But what if the advantages DON'T outweigh the disadvantages? Which advantages are there? I would guess that a large majority of Americans would find a gun ban to be extremely disadvantageous. I don't own a gun, and I've never even fired a real handgun in my life, but I would vigorously oppose a handgun ban. And, as I've pointed out before, the tightest gun control in the U.S. is almost always in the most violent areas, and it has done nothing to stop the violence. I would like a concrete proposal for your campaign, including data that provides legitimate evidence that what you're proposing will actually help. You seem to have taken the position "Guns are bad; if people are informed of this, they'll agree with me." What if your position is actually incorrect, and the people who do not want a gun ban are right about this?
Who wants to try a bottle of merc's "Extroversion Olive Oil?"
