    no men looking after us?!

bligh comes across as much more natural than gillard on the teev. gillard seems so forced and gesticulates with her hands too much.
Yeah we had a similar situations of females dominating all the major authority positions a few years ago. You should have heard all the old chauvinists to go on and on and on...

Bligh does seem more relatable, and Gillard a bit stiff but I really don't know much about Gillard yet to decide where I stand with her.

Bligh has been really good in my opinion. Watching Gillard trying to be emotional is more painful than John Howard was.

For whoever asked, I think the initial flooding was triggered by a cyclone.

Just a few stats to give some perspective for the non-Aussies:

    Total area of Queensland:
    1,727,110km2 (666,840 miles2) - more than 2.5 times the size of Texas (268,601)!

Proportion of Australian mainland land mass:
    22.5%

    Proportion currently under water:
    nearly 3/4!

I'd rather judge a politician's performance by their statesmanship and decision-making prowess than their likelihood of being nominated at the next Acadamy Awards for "Best dramatic supporting role in the documentary 'National Emergency!'" Dunno about you though...

speaking of Gillard being bad at feigning emotional dramatics and not being prone to them anyhow, what do you think, ISTJ?

I wonder about Rudd and his obsession with being Mr. Popular, mostly guessing but, ESFJ? He seems fixated on the emotional route to popularity.
