Default St. Louis, keep up the good work!

It looks like St. Louis is trying to win the title of "Most Dangerous City in America" in 2008. I'm so proud of my hometown!

Just make sure he takes a bullet proof vest and a combat helmet and he'll be fine.

I've been to St. Louis twice and managed to live to tell about it.

I must be part of some crazy, rare statistic. :rolli:

Some people are just lucky like that. I'd recommend one of these if you're going to spend much time on the road.

Here's a picture of a typical St. Louis child getting ready for school. It's really sad.

This actually happened in Kirkwood, which isn't far from where I live. Overall, I think that St. Louis is a pretty nice place, but there are definitely areas that are more dangerous. Thing is, and one reason this was such a big deal around here (other than the city hall aspect), is that Kirkwood is *not* one of the places you'd think of as dangerous - it's primarily an affluent suburb (not an excuse - it's sad that there are areas where this sort of thing isn't "big news").

I felt a bit guilty after reading the news this morning and being glad that none of my Kirkwood friends were on the casualty list. The scary thing is that of all the reports I've heard, this guy's family are all saying things like in Lateralus' article - "he was upset and had to do something" seems like their general statement. Scary .

Actually, as I write this, all of the TV stations are doing Kirkwood Memorial shows

Well, technically I grew up in St. Charles County (specifically, O'fallon). So I've never actually lived with you homicidal freaks on the other side of the Missouri River. I'd cross over to go to concerts and Cardinals games, but otherwise, I figured I'd rather not dodge bullets.

I live about 30 minutes east of St. Louis in Illinois. My sister lives in O'fallon, Mo. Kirkwood, MO was a sleepy and quiet neighborhood until child molester Michael Devlin lived with his abducted Shaun Hornbeck right in plain view. It's all really sad, because Kirkwood is considered a good town. I feel for all of those who were involved... and I hope everyone learns from this terrible and unnecessary tragedy.

I did date a girl from St. Louis County once. She was an alcoholic. I was her boss (unrelated to her alcoholism).
