If you are going to correct someone or patronize them, at least have the good taste to be right.

What you do mean is that I should embrace your revisionist libertarian view of the world, and I'm going to have to disagree with you, sir. Reading Reason may not actually make you better informed, it may just may make you more deeply entrenched in the trappings of your own ideology.
Or maybe I just am better-informed and more well-read on the topic. Like, for instance, knowing the distinction between democratic socialism and social democracy? I mean, I took Lark to task for a dumbass comment regarding libertarians, and then you followed up with an unnecessary "at least. . ." There is nothing revisionist (you LOVE that word!) about it. Words have meanings.

However, I will graciously thank you for pointing out that Social Democracy is further Centrist than Democratic Socialism, two concepts which have been used interchangeably until recent years, including within the British Labour Party.
    No problem.

You sure got uptight about that, and I wasn't even correcting you at all in my original reply. Apparently my tone to you should always be deferential and respectful even if you talk down to me.

Marm don't play that game. Just know.

"As long as you're aware of the very clear distinction (though in your mind it might be a subtlety, for all I know) between Stalinism and other forms of Socialism."

This is pretty condescending and insulting to my intelligence, even if you didn't mean it to be. When it comes to poli sci and history and econ, I think I deserve the benefit of the doubt by now. As do the vast majority of libertarians, who have much higher than average rates of studying these topics (formally or not), getting postgraduate degrees, etc.
