This is typical for the Democrats. They seem to be incapable of establishing a coherent agenda and even more incapable of implementing it. They are, sad to say, incompetent.

Chutzpah doesn't have anything to do with competence - chutzpah is a show of nerve, the kind of empty charm that can get politicians elected despite their qualifications or lack there of.

So your post, sad to say, makes no fucking sense.

I dont think the US is centre right though, I think the US is by most standards far right, the public is becoming disillusioned too because their personal far right visions, whether religious or free marketeer, wont be realised. I mean that's a given. Utopianism of the right is still utopianism, it wont get sent up or lampooned by South Park or clever fantasy turned sci fi directors like Joss Whedon did with Firefly but that changes nothing.

I'm still waiting to see how it pans out when the greatest thing about the US, its can do optimism, collides full force with reality of this shit wont work in practice, not how we thought anyway.

This type of thing is a big part of it, imo. They let the Repubs define them and didn't do much that said anything different.

...and this. Fox noise media says it enough times, it has to be the truth. And they're allowed to lie. The court ruling said so. HA!!!

They do have a coherent agenda.

    A) Universal Health care
    B) Middle East
    C) Economy
    D) Education

But people only cared about the economy. They weren't aggressive enough. The Republicans have been downright, thoroughly vicious since Obama's election.

Instead of Obama giving speeches that goes something like Brothers and Sisters, we are all in this together, let's keep trying...Mother in Ohio blah blah ... Father in factory BLAH BLAH ... he should have just been like we did this and this and this (bitch) without all that useless goo. All the liberal media should have stepped it up instead of pretending they are not liberal. Fox News is Republican and they aren't denying it or toning it down, not even one bit.

Rebe, even if that's true, we have an economic situation where the taxes are down, the Obama bailout money is supposed to be regained (according to many economic sources) and the economy has expanded. And these are mathematical, not opinion, claims. The plurality of troops are out of Iraq. Healthcare is, especially in the long run, expected to decrease in price and certain nonsense HMO policies were vetoed. They've done decent, if not amazing, with those areas (education has the most modest gains, mostly aid for new college students). But, in the last Republican administration, every one of those areas went off the rails. The war and the economic crisis were started via Republican policies, some of which they still espouse (especially economically, a tax cut friendly out look with spending cuts from... we don't know where).

So, yeah, the math and logic say the Dems did better, in general, than the Repubs, but most citizens don't know that.

It's the same old same old. Republicans are a lot better at politics, worse at policy (example: 2004. Swiftboat was the most influential ad of the time, but Kerry won all three debates. He was stiffer, but smarter).

I'd be lying if I said I didn't think this election will prolong our economic woes. At least it'll probably be neutral instead of awful like 2002-06 (when Bush became sort of lame duck) were.

Your sense of history is wacko. Kerry won one debate clearly and held his own in another, but he got trounced by Bush in one of them. Many of his fellow Democrats admitted that, too. That was especially pathetic, given Dubya's brutal public speaking.
