Default Missouri Tea Party, Joe the Plumber Support Puppy Mills, Become Cartoonishly Evil

    From the LA times.

I mean, seriously? Fighting for puppy mills? Saying the Humane Society "doesn't like animals"? Seriously?

My logic professor once told me that if someone is being accused of a position that that seems to unreasonable to hold, it probably isn't being held. In other words, start investigating for a straw man.

After investigating, I say that this is not a highly discussed topic with a lot of material, but what I've seen surprisingly indicates that this is actually true. It's not a case of someone in the LA Times blog getting a little carried away.

The one correction I will make is that the article refers to the opposition as Tea Partiers, in which in some loose way may be true, but I feel it might mislead people to think there is some wider, national position held by the masses or the leaders of the Tea Party movement of opposing puppy mill regulation. So far, I have not seen evidence of that.
    Go to sleep, iguana.

Magic, I also looked up several articles on the topic and each says roughly the same thing, with the logic for keeping the puppy mills open never going beyond "dogs will be more expensive."

I was also curious if the proposition maybe had some clauses or other effects that might have been the reason for opposing it. I've found nothing of the sort.
