Default Dad Loses His Cool, Threatens Daughter's Alleged Bullies on Bus

I wouldn't have used this particular tactic, but I have no problem with his message.

Dad Loses His Cool, Threatens Students On Bus - ABC News
"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Desperate times call for desperate measures. However, there are much better, more sane and effective avenues this man could have ventured down in order to protect his daughter.

That's probably what those specific kids [bullies] need though... A good tongue lashing from an enraged father. There's no excuse for bullying.

That really floored me too. "For him to be afraid to ride the school bus the next day? That bothered me." Doesn't bother you that because of your son's behavior, this girl is afraid to ride the school bus EVERY day?

While threatening to kill them is over the top, I applaud the dude standing up for his daughter. He should definitely be charged/fined/community service though.

OMG my girlfriend literally said yesterday "if I had a kid that was being bullied, I don't know what I'd do...I'd probably be one of those moms who finds the bullies and screams at them!"

This is just hilarious to me for that reason.

My dad would totally have done this. I don't think he would have threatened to kill anybody but he would definitely have confronted them and demanded that what they were doing end right then and there. I think this dad could have avoided legal trouble by being a bit more careful about exactly what he said, but I applaud the spirit of what he did.

Yeah, although the father could have handled it better, I do agree with him. School bullying is a major problem that causes a lot of young people to contemplate suicide, some even to go through with it, and in my opinion parents, teachers, and school officials need to do more to combat this issue.

I remember one time in maybe 1st grade, a bunch of kids in my class were picking on this boy, we'll call him Allan, who was a bit weird and probably had some kind of developmental disability. Everyone was touching his arm or something, and then going around saying "Allan germs!" and trying to "give" them to other students. I usually was not a participant in such activities, but this particular time, someone "gave" me "Allan germs" and I joined in. My teacher saw me, and immediately pulled me aside, and asked me, "Would you like it if someone did that to you?" I felt shame and said, "No," and the teacher made me apologize to Allan. At the time, although I was sorry and did feel bad, I was also mad that I was the only one she singled out... because of all the people doing it, I was probably the least likely to do it again. Still, I'm glad she did make me apologize, and it's something I think about to this day.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.
