Default Applying to intern for Congressmen and my move to WASHINGTON DC!!!!!111!1one

    What up guys.

I've been gone for the last few months figuring my life out and getting up close and personal with some good old blue collar labor. I was delivering furniture in the hot Florida summer sun. It took about three days for me to realize that I didn't want to do this for very long and about five for me to realize I hated my supervisor with the fiery passion of a Tokamak reactor.

Luckily that job was only intended to hold me over while I figured out what I wanted to do.

What I wanted to do was work in politics in D.C.. Ever since I wrote my IB extended essay on Cold War Nuclear Diplomacy, I've wanted to be involved in politics. It just wasn't until now that that dream has come into reach.

I'm in the final stage of the applications process at the moment.

Pending how the internship (if I get it) goes, I may be moving to D.C. permanently!!!!!!!

I created this thread to catch you guys up on whats going on with me, and ask you this....

If you could personally discuss an issue that should be dealt with, with a Congressman...

    What would you discuss?

    Here's my issue:

Is it even possible to get all of the corporate lobbyists out of Washington?

    Short answer.... no.

We'll be able to lessen and regulate lobbyists, but (in my most humble of opinions) they are with us to stay.

Then we should basically give up on the government. Right now it's a government of the lobbyists, by the lobbyists and for the lobbyists.

There's tick spray. Surely there's lobbyist spray.

And congratulations, Biscuit! I admire your motivation and political acumen!

A lobbyist is only as powerful as the guy bankrolling him.

(*note to self* "I need to be less negative next time.")
