Default Curtis Allgier - Fair trial because of tattoos?

Curtis Allgier killed a corrections officer in Utah in 2007. Curtis' lawyer is "afraid" he won't get a fair trial because Curtis' face and body are covered with tatoos of hate and racism - "Skinhead" and swasticas are written on his face. Lawyer wants taxpayers to pay for makeup ($150/day) to hide the tats. It is the tattoos on his face, neck, chest, arms and hands that the defense is concerned about, saying that allowing the tattoos to remain visible would be "prejudicial and would violate his due process right to a fair trial."

Defense wants Curtis Allgier's many tattoos covered for trial | Deseret News

What do you think? Should he have to appear in court with his tattoos showing, or will that cause an unfair trial?

them they've all got unimaginable, magnificent, wonderful, stupid, amazing worlds. Not just one world. Hundreds of them. Thousands maybe.” -Neil Gaiman

Should it really matter if he has to cover up his tattoos, or, does it really matter if he shows up in a court room with those tattoos?

Part of me hopes he wins so I can someday extract taxpayer money to prepare for a job interview or something...

I suppose it would strike most people that he has hateful ideological convictions, what's that got to do with killing a guard? His politics arent on trial, although to be honest looking at him I just think he's crazy.

Since when does his decision to appear like a retarded wannabe become anyone else's problem?
Isn't it time for a colourful metaphor?

    His lawyer is probably right.

The tats were his choice, can't see how that's a taxpayer problem. S'what you get for tattooing your face, ijiot.

    This.

If he was afraid that his tats were going to make people see him in a different light, he shouldn't have gotten them.
