She lied and someone needs to put her in a straight jacket ASAP.
That's even more bizarre than the original story. She was fairly attractive before. How messed up in the head is someone who disfigures their own face for attention? And she went on about how she forgave the woman who allegedly attacked her and hopes that she "gets help." As disturbing as this story is, I'm fascinated by it. Depravity knows no bounds.
I wonder what those "discrepancies" in her recount of her actions and of the attack are. Because this whole thing got the amount of media coverage it did, could it be possible that someone or some group is threatening her in some way, forcing her to reconstruct her story and tell the media that what happened was self inflicted? Because otherwise it doesn't make much sense unless she's got some psychological problem.
Not to mention, it was in a public place. Who pours acid on their own face somewhere in public then starts screaming? If it was premeditated self-harm, why would you want to mess up your face but buy sunglasses so that it wasn't ruined too badly? If it was for attention, why resort to such means? So weird .
Also, I felt her mother's reaction to the event was a bit too calm. The way she was describing the events to the reporter...I don't know, something seemed off. Or maybe it just hadn't sunk in yet.

Storro said that while in the hospital, a Safeway representative gave her a check for $3,000, which was placed into her personal account.
She said she spent about $1,500 of the money on dinners for her parents, a train ticket for her sister, "stuff at Target" clothes for herself and round-trip train tickets to Seattle for her and her mother for the weekend of Sept. 12. She also used the money to pay off a $620 bill to a Portland clinic where she had a laser peel two weeks before she burned herself.
I am simply amazed by this woman. Even though she's taken advantage of people's generosity, I think there's some definite mental illness issues going on.
There was a woman here who really WAS attacked with acid, apparently by her ex-boyfriend: St. Louis Park Woman Suffers Battery Acid Attack
When I heard this story I simultaneously thought WTF WHAT IS WRONG WITH HIM and WTF WHAT COUNTRY AM I LIVING IN AGAIN.
Murphy Brown: What is it with us? Why can't we take the easy road once in awhile?
Avery Brown: Because it's boring and dishonest and uncomfortable, like wearing a pair of shoes all day that pinch your feet.
