Question What do you think of the 'N' word?

Some people think it is fine for black people to say it to one another.

Some people think it is wrong in general.

Some people freak out over just white people saying it.

    Some people just say 'nigga.'

I noticed that plenty of us are sailor mouths, but seldom does the word 'nigger' come up. I understand that it is different from other swear words, to some. But what do you guys think, if anything at all?

I am sure I will get several 'I don't think of it' posts.

From what I have seen, most black people dont like it, dont use it, and hate that white people think that black people use it, when the reality is that its mostly black rappers and young black males that use it in the way discussed.

My gf is black, she hates it in general.

While I dont like it, i dont have the saame feelings over it because I am not black and dont live the black experience, I do hate it for her though because I love her and dont want things to hurt her.

Ah, well, what I know are young black males and rappers. So I would say that black people do use it. And a lot of them, as a lot are young.

Nearly every black person I known considers the use of the word nigger pretty repulsive.

My ex-girlfriend was black, so she knew a lot more black people than I do, and they hated the word as well.

The only black people who do are those with some sort of anti-establishment chip on their shoulders, desperate to rebel and fight the system, the sort of people who fail to realise that the rappers' "fight for the streets" is a long dead fantasy, sold out for money and record sales.

Swear word... insult... racial slur... degrading to a race as a whole.

Yeah no, very few blacks actually use it. You just watch a lot of tv apparently. Saying blacks use it so definitively is like saying white people have mullets and live in trailers.

Actually, I watch next to no tv.

Most of the black people I know from school use it. (keep in mind: highschoolers)

That should tell you everything right there.

Most of them don't know what the real world is like. They're just emulating popular media.

The vast majority of them will grow out of it once they get out of school.

And I am betting they are just trying to act like the small group of blacks who do use the word. Rappers. Again, hardly indicative of the entire group. And also a very small polling number. I bet you they dont use that word at home in front of their parents.
