Thank god () not all religious people are like you (well, you said it best: )

It wouldn't leave many normal people in the world since all atheists are like that.

These kind of statistics always make me wonder how different the American culture really is from us. Almost fifty percent wouldn't let a child marry an atheist?! I guess here no one would even dare to say anything like that in order to not look like a fool and a control freak.

sometime down the road everyone will be a yellowish light brown. which is good. race will no longer be an issue. humans will always hate some grouping or other. why not hate the grouping that doesn't believe in the entity that built their conscience into their DNA many moons ago.
everyone uses every function about evenly. take NE for example. if there are those who don't use it much, then why are there such massive amounts of people constantly flowing through Wallmart with 20 items or less?

Non-religious weddings are never as fun.

Nah, he'll do alright because there is no such thing as magic bullets in the atheist world.

    This will not end well...
But it will at least be poetic, I suppose...

Hmm... But what if it does end well?
Then I suppose it will be a different sort of poetry, a preferable sort...
A sort I could become accustomed to...

This is an example of a false dichotomy.

Passionate thinking does not necessarily predispose one to a/theism. Passion and religious belief aren't related terms.

All atheists aren't Richard Dawkins. Just as all theists aren't Pat Robertson.

Didn't read most of the thread, but I imagine that many conservative religious people (particularly christians) dislike atheists because they actually represent a change in policy and behavior (like taking prayer out of schools, etc.) so they are actually threatening (to them). On top of this, most people don't like having their faith challenged intellectually.
"You will always be fond of me. I represent to you all the sins you never had the courage to commit."

Reason is, and ought only to be the slave of the passions, and can never pretend to any other office
than to serve and obey them. - David Hume

Fundamentalist atheists are among the most irritating of all the faithful. Having said that, I can't help but take a bit of pride in my status. It takes a great deal of energy to really despise someone. Knowing that I touch so many strangers with my beliefs gives me a sense of meaning in life.
