Default Touchdown Jesus destroyed by an act of God

"We grow up thinking that beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

    Styrofoam? Styrofoam!!!!?

    ...YOU INFIDELS! *ZAAAAP!*

People don't actually believe it's by an act of God right? Cause like, gee, I'm not sure, but I think like... height, material, and maybe stupid human engineering might have, like, something to do with it?

    I saw that.

And there's nothing brighter than Touchdown Jesus going up in flames along an interstate highway. Bring the holy marshmallows!

    Did it really cost $250,000?
And now they're going to rebuild it?
... I'm sure all the starving homeless kids think it's a great tradeoff.

I know the Notre Dame one is more famous, but it's still a funny story.

Default Big Butter Jesus Struck Down By Lightening

Several years ago this song was made...

and then yesterday it was struck down by lightening

6-story Jesus statue in Ohio struck by lightning - Yahoo! News

    God is hilarious.

*I didn't put this in the spirituality section because I'm not especially religious and this struck me as more of an interesting current event.
