I hate our social class system, and in particular, our inclination to deny its existence.

    I hate that too.

Oh, I also hate that white people (second generation) see themselves automatically as American while other races even when they are seventh generation are ___-American...wtf.
I hate that, too, but I also hate the fact that if you're white you're expected to just consider yourself American. My ancestors came here in 1790 and I still consider myself Irish-American. My family history doesn't end in 1790; I need a root beyond that!

YES! I can't fathom how anyone could believe that class doesn't exist in the US!

What I hate more about that, is that no one ever bothers to try to tell the truth or correct the misguided things that have been put into the heads of our students from programs designed like the one above.

I hate that almost 95% of all of our food products are controlled by only a handful of companies and corporations.

I hate that our domesticated animals which we eat are treated worse than what a person would be allowed to treat a stray dog.

I hate that our government subsidizes farmers to grow such a ridiculous amount of corn each year, and how the government subsidizes fast food restaurants, effectively making fast food the cheapest, easiest way for people to get a meal. (Seriously, $1 for a double cheeseburger, with paying someone to make it? That's ridiculous. You couldn't even buy that much meat at a store for a dollar.)

I hate that it's near-on impossible to go out and eat healthily.

I hate our crushing dependency of oil, our hatred of the Middle East, and the giant flip-flop we perform when we happily accept Middle Eastern oil.

I hate that some of the hardest working people in America are fired or laid off despite being loyal to a company for decades.

I hate how many pointless casualties and accidents we have due to corporate greed.

I hate that in America, every member of a non-white race's achievements or failures are directly related to their race.

I hate that it's so god-damned hard to find people who aren't afraid to speak in rational, well-thought-out ways.

I hate that it's hard to have philosophical discussions with most people.

I hate that public transportation is HORRIBLE in the United States.

I hate that in America, people try to play the patriot card.

I hate that intelligence is regarded as being intimidating and is swept aside for something more boisterous to take the lead.

I hate the glorification of ignorance.

I hate the lack of social programs that would actually help people out of the gutter.

I hate the poor treatment of our mentally ill.

I hate that the bottom line is the bottom line, even though I kind of said this before.

I also hate how parents today don't have control over their children.

I hate how most parents aren't even directly involved in their childrens' education.

I hate that it's acceptable for little punk-ass middle schoolers to run their mouths.

I hate a lot of the hypocritical sex and marriage laws we have.
    Yes.

Its very healthy to see Americans actually criticising their country, of course in the UK this is completely normal. We distrust blind jingoism and militant patriotism, this is what we normally associate the USA with. I have to admit I am extremely anti-atlanticist and want to stop the culture of the UK doing sycophantically everything America tells us.

    For the record

I hate American religiosity, why can't they understand that God doesn’t exist!

I hate the fact that Americans are obsessed with a document written 250 years or so ago (something they consider ''ancient''). There are pubs in my village older than the USA. I've read the constitution and although it has much to recommend it, it is treated with ludicrous reverence.

The gun culture is absolutely insane, yet again this goes with the point above. If we had the same attitude as the Americans over the 2nd amendment we would be enforcing the most minute and trivial aspects of Magna Carta from 1215

Historical propaganda that Americans seem to get taught in school. You did not 'save our asses' in World War 2, you arrived late and then destroyed our economy after the war.

I hate how Americans let themselves be pinned with so much negativity.

I hate how at the same time they can be blankly proud

(I would say that these two things is a sign of intelligence, but nobody would believe me)

I hate how Americans are always down on themselves for "not being ancient enough".

I hate how we can't believe that there is two sides to a war (though evidently no one else can, either, so that's not a uniquely American problem)

I hate how nobody here realizes that to hate one's self so much is also a form of narcissism.

    etc.

Probably what I hate most is how when the US is criticized everyone just agrees and swallows it whole while whenever somewhere else is criticized it's accepted as a cultural difference.

    Agreed. (And I live here).

You, are missing a key point. If we all had the attitude you had, we would have made an amendment to the constitution by now. However, the reality is, we like our guns. That provides us with a justification for having them, but we like them. If we didn't, we'd probably change the laws. As it is, most states are loosening their laws on guns by their own choice.

Historical propaganda that Americans seem to get taught in school. You did not 'save our asses' in World War 2, you arrived late and then destroyed our economy after the war.
We also produced a great deal of things and were required for winning the war. As such, we like to look at it as us saving your ass, because we provided the change in the balance of power necessary to win the war. You weren't likely to survive without us on your side. This isn't "The Americans saved your ass". This is more "The Americans made it possible to produce enough stuff, and later on provide enough men, to enable victory". To say we saved your ass is unrealistic, but to say that any of the Allied forces were likely to have succeeded entirely without the US, or UK, or USSR, is also unrealistic.

That's the end result of hegemony. We accept their criticism because they can't do anything about it. We restrain ourselves from criticizing others because if we get worked up into a xenophobic froth, we're well within our power to wipe them out entirely.
