Haven't read Republic or Politics in a long while, but from what I remember...Plato would be authoritarian and my guess is socialist; Aristotle socially authoritarian and economically more liberal.

Of course none of those terms will be found in the text, but then the texts are only limited to certain subject matters and were written thousands of years ago. Nonetheless, I think it's fair to say that ideologies are just assortments, combinations, fusions, branches off of philosophies. So I really don't think it should be that hard to identify oneself--I mean if people actually truly were so original and individualistic, then nobody would have bothered coming up with ideological groups. That's actually not true. Philosophy and ideology are two distinct things.

    Agreed.

It's always entertaining to see people in self-denial.
There's nothing more ordinary and normative than people who pride themselves on being "independent thinkers"...

No. You're a Romantic Reactionary, deeply embedded in the 19th century.

Now, the good thing is that even if Romantic Reactionaries often are considered to be Paleofascists, as a matter of fact, historically they were rather opposed to true Totalitarian movements. Hence, you're not THAT evil...

Anyway, technically, and for those who don't know it yet, you could say I'm a Social Progressive, and that my political ethos is Green politics.

In the USA, you could say I'm a hopeless leftist while in France, I would be only a moderate center-left.

Aren't the two in open contradiction?

You just have to be an ex-"marxist" (in the subjective sense) of some stripe by the way you talk. most reactionaries are unselfconscious about it.

Since when did MBTI type/function preference dictate one's political leanings or opinions of social welfare?
I was under the impression political leanings are dictated more by one's personal life experience not those magic four letters, that some people accord almost crystal ball status.

Yes, it's pretty ridiculous to relate MBTI to poltiical beliefs.

As an INTP I would find it pretty hilarious if someone told me that Ti-Ne would tend to make me lean towards something as barbaric as rmeoving social safety nets.
