    No, you're right. It doesn't.

But on the other hand, if cops raid your apartment looking for someone who murdered a child, you probably shouldn't try to fight them off physically. Stay calm and fight it out in court later if you think it's unjustified. Especially if there is a 7 year old child in the room.

I would imagine it's not the easiest thing to think clearly when someone is busting your door down at 1:00 AM.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

^After throwing a grenade through your window.

For real. When there were toys in the front yard. Bunch of thugs.

    It's true. It's very sad.

I guess we'll never know what really happened. Sad situation, all around.

I wonder how, and if, these people were related to the suspect - the one who killed that other child.

How should we avoid such an occurrence in the future? It seems as though, given the nature of the world, such things would happen from time to time; however unfortunate it may be...

We might, there's a video of the raid apparently, by an A&E series that was filming a reality show on homicide in Detroit, that shows that the gun firing wasn't provoked by an altercation. Unlike what the police account says happened, that "during a struggle or after colliding with the girl's grandmother inside the home" the gun was discharged.

It's all hearsay at this point; until the story develops further and the facts are out, I reserve my judgment. However, was the raid mismanaged and poorly executed? It seems that way for sure... I find it hard to believe there was any ill intent involved though, considering they were being aired for TV and I really don't think cops are looking to lose their badges because of murdering kids.

Kendoiwan, we already know your view on cops.

I wonder if we'll ever see that video.
I agree with you, Beat. I'm sure it was a very unfortunate accident. But someone does need to be held accountable.

That poor family. I feel terrible for them.

I still want to know how they were connected to the suspect, though.
