Fortunately we don't have a Bill of Rights. Instead we have a functioning Parliament that has, so far, protected our rights and freedoms.

We are discussing at the moment whether we want a Bill of Rights. But my guess is that we will stick with our democratically elected Parliament. And rather than handing power over to a non-elected judiciary, we will simply ensure our legislation complies with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Dreamy idealism, for the most part.
Some of it, the good part, is based on cooperation, humanism and common sense, though.

Healthcare is just one of those things that should just be obvious.
It's about as obvious as not eating other humans or sharing water if someone is dying of thirst.

    For being a dumbass.

One of the many things he will be known for:
Ignoring the population's will and pressuring for a healthcare bill.
Stimulating the economy with a stimulus package.
    Being a one term president.

Compassion does not equal welfare, and you should know that, along with everyone else.

We all need a Reserve Currency and the Governor of the Reserve Bank of China has been touting his currency as a future Reserve Currency.

But in Oz we are very happy with the USA Dollar.

We are not going to invade China, Europe and the rest of Asia. The rest of the world is already moving towards dumping the U.S. dollar--as they should.

The Pound was once the reserve currency of the world, Victor.

    It isn't anymore.

That is at best a rather naive view of Left-wing politics. Do I need to bring up the Jaocbin reign of terror or Stalinist purges to point that leftist politics are often just as much fear-mongering as the right? Even now we have the "Left" in America fear-mongering about how the Right is destroying America.

I would honestly like to believe this, but eight years of Bush leaves me in great doubt if this will be true.

The United States, if anyone, has the money.
Really bad excuse. Even third world countries have Universal Healthcare.
Gotta close the gaps between the classes a little, though.
If one is big and strong, one has a responsibility towards others.
    Same goes for wealthy.
Raise taxes and build a better nation for everyone.
Also, it's kinda expensive to fight wars and maintain bases all over the globe for no apparent reason.
