Yes, Victor, "business" is a self-aware hive-mind that controls everyone who supports different variations of rights-based political principles.
Fortunately we don't have a Bill of Rights. Instead we have a functioning Parliament that has, so far, protected our rights and freedoms.
We are discussing at the moment whether we want a Bill of Rights. But my guess is that we will stick with our democratically elected Parliament. And rather than handing power over to a non-elected judiciary, we will simply ensure our legislation complies with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Dreamy idealism, for the most part.
Some of it, the good part, is based on cooperation, humanism and common sense, though.
That is at best a rather naive view of Left-wing politics. Do I need to bring up the Jaocbin reign of terror or Stalinist purges to point that leftist politics are often just as much fear-mongering as the right? Even now we have the "Left" in America fear-mongering about how the Right is destroying America.

I would honestly like to believe this, but eight years of Bush leaves me in great doubt if this will be true.
Compassion does not equal welfare, and you should know that, along with everyone else.
The United States, if anyone, has the money.
Really bad excuse. Even third world countries have Universal Healthcare.
Gotta close the gaps between the classes a little, though.
If one is big and strong, one has a responsibility towards others.
Same goes for wealthy. Raise taxes and build a better nation for everyone.
Also, it's kinda expensive to fight wars and maintain bases all over the globe for no apparent reason.
Mightier than the tread of marching armies is the power of an idea whose time has come
