There is nothing glorious about revolution for all revolutions eat their own children.

And there is nothing funny about revolution as the first casualty of any revolution is irony.

I dont think that everyone considered Cromwell's coup a glorious anything, the monarch determines their terms of service and that's pretty much how monarchy works.

I understand it is the British Parliament that determines the Monarch's terms of service.

And fortunately the Monarch's service comes to Oz free of charge.

    Wills should get it.

I have a lot of respect for the Queen, not so much for Charles.

    I am biased.

I'm not sure I want to see our reigning monarch be a man who once aspired to being a tampon...

Barring extreme circumstances, the Queen is never going to abdicate. Especially given how dreadful the last one went. She believes it is her duty and god given right to remain sovereign until death. All this talk of Charles or William stepping in is just silly.

I don't think Charles will be all that bad. He's a bit of a pathetic milksop but he's not a complete nutjob. Of course, he's no spring chicken himself and I will still be hanging out for him to kick the bucket and William to be crowned...

Maybe Charles can be old fashioned and just organize a palace coup.

I'm startled noone's pointed out the queen mother wasn't "removed by god" >.> She gave up her throne to lizzy^2.

That being said, however, the monarchy is a figurehead; sure the crown TECHNICALLY has the power to veto anything... but there'd be riots if she did, and she's never done so before.

The throne is a cultural thing at this point, and by cultural, it is also traditional, and tradition is that the throne is passed when the holder dies.

Even so, charles, although not nearly as popular, is really not that bad a guy, from whot I've actually read up upon him about, he's actually pretty good with money and such, which would probably help alot of the palace's issues with finances.

I've no clue about camilla though.
