Climate of fear : Article : Nature

    Editorial
    Nature 464, 141 (11 March 2010) | doi:10.1038/464141a; Published online 10 March 2010

Ecologist Paul Ehrlich at Stanford University in California says that his climate colleagues are at a loss about how to counter the attacks. ôEveryone is scared shitless, but they don't know what to do,ö he says.

    Climate of fear

The integrity of climate research has taken a very public battering in recent months. Scientists must now emphasize the science, while acknowledging that they are in a street fight....(more at link)

I am trying to figure out an answer that isn't obvious. The planet can take a battering but the damage to the ozone layer is a frightening thought for all the planet.Doing illogical things is pretty scary long term when they are such huge features of all construction.
Cows confuse me? not in minority but in majority.Less cows does make sense.
    roll on not can.
    pump action hairspray.
pump action everything that can be.
    why not?
Allowing capitalism to dictate democracy to such a degree that we attack the earth with no regard is madness.People are being conned into the view that if the powers that be deem it ok it must be so.It is a good excuse to a certain extent because of lack of information or counter clause.People need educating & those who simply don't care need blocking for the welfare of all.

Eh. The thing scientists need to do is just do science. Form hypotheses, design experiments, gather data, perform rigorous analyses, publish the whole shebang in peer-review journals in an utterly transparent manner, and leave the public policy to the policy wonks. That's the best thing science could possibly do for the climate change premise right now.

This article suggests that scientists need to get better at public relations. That's the wrong direction. Public relations implies politics. Science shouldn't be political.
"We grow up thinking that´╗┐ beliefs are something to be proud of, but they're really nothing but opinions one refuses to reconsider. Beliefs are´╗┐ easy. The stronger your beliefs are, the less open you are to growth and wisdom, because "strength of belief" is only the intensity with which you resist questioning yourself. As soon as you are proud of´╗┐ a belief, as soon as you think it adds something to who you are, then you've made it a part of your ego."

Gather round children, and let me tell you a tale about nature...

A herd of water-buffalo was partaking from the river of life
And one esteemed buffalo was measuring the variables of the water
When suddenly, a crocodile reared its clenching jaws out of no where
Snapping at the esteemed buffalo - so the buffalo panicked and stumbled with his shambled gait
So when he ran, the rest of the herd ran and ran and ran, as if they were being pursued by a herd of crocodiles
They cast fear and and chastised each other for instigating the crocodile attack
And never came back to drink
Eventually, they dehydrated, carcasses sprawled, maws agape, with tongues roasting on the ass-cracks of the earth

    ~Fin~

    In memory of grandpa Herald.

    You are gone
    Your B.O. is not

Science IS political. Congress appropriates BILLIONS for Global Warming research. Universities and other facilities benefit from the funding.

Want to keep your funding? Better find some global warming bitches!

That's probably what they're all afraid of...loosing their funding for b* shit.
