So to describe the USA as big as the Continent itself is puffery.

But why do you need to puff yourself up so much when you are the largest economy in the world, and have been so for more than one hundred years?

I'm pretty sure he's talking about as big as Europe.

    Europe's area: 10,180,000 km

    US's area: 9,826,675 km

However, you must keep in mind that for the US, much of that is Alaska, which really doesn't count.

Ever wonder why 90% of Canada's population is ridiculously close to the US border, though? Canada isn't exactly prime real estate.

No, I mean as big as the European continent.

What's this "you" shit though? I'm not American.

A lot of the whole "largest countries in the world" things seem unproportional. Think about it, the 4 largest countries are either mountainous (US and China) or very cold (Russia and Canada, and the US to an extent because Alaska is like 1/4th of its area). Perhaps we should go by arable land?

I was born and raised here. Puerto Rico isn't part of the US though, anymore than the British Raj was part of England.

I'm pretty sure Puerto Rico still counts in the area count, though.

You are Puerto Rican but you are not an American even though you are part of the Continents of North and South America?

Sounds like you have been deracinated by the Yankees.
