hmm...it was even better for Truman to nuke Japan, in order to scare the piss out of Stalin.

Silly Japan had been trying to surrender that whole summer.

If global politics were a forum, Ahmadinejad would be a troll. He seems to say a number of things that only serve to piss everyone off.

Re: 9/11, I think the american government could have found easier, less dramatic, and less public ways to do the conspiracy bits, so I dismiss them by default as unlikely. But to incite bloodlust in the american public as to better accept initiating an unrelated war afterwards? That's actually plausible. So who knows.

I think Ahmadinejad thinking 9/11 is a conspiracy is a conspiracy.

I think Ahmadinejad is a shrewd business man. The more unstable and wacko he can appear, the higher oil prices might go.

Really? i don't see the link here. The Soviets were invited into Afganistan.

"The Soviet War in Afghanistan, also known as the Soviet–Afghan War, was a ten-year conflict involving the Soviet Union, supporting the Marxist government of the Democratic Republic of Afghanistan at their own request, against the Islamist Mujahideen Resistance."

I am certian the only reason for the C.I.A's involvement (other than the obvious interest in the golden triangle) is because they were paranoid about "the communists" taking over.
Incidentally the soviets had the greatest losses in human life during the second world war.
