Just posted this because it's so strange.

errr, wow. sounds like her organization was tiny to the point of being almost non-existent anyway, so at least she won't mar the reputation of any legitimate anti-domestic violence groups.

    (one can only hope)

i don't find this particularly strange or unheard of. the article is very general and nebulous, as is the nature of many news articles. one can only speculate as to the nature of her relationship with her husband, the impetus that led her to such a career in the first place, and the events that occured that night. plenty of people join organizations that they have a personal affinity toward (disabilities, human rights groups, environmental protection, etc) due to upbringing, values, experiences that make such issues especially exigent. she may very well have been abused by her husband, displaced her frustrations through her career, and then decided to take things into her own hands, so to speak (peak stress, horrible fight, job not going well). this is no means a justification of her actions, just a nod towards the fact that in many lives there's a huge discrepancy between actions in public and private sphere.

This is terrible. If convicted, I hope she never gets out.

I don't know enough to make that call. Could it have been self-defense?

    Classic self-loathing hypocrisy.

The irony is a bit amusing...as well as sad.

Maybe the victim was talking when he should have been listening?

I can sort of imagine her as a past abuse victim who is so paranoid about it happening that she was willingly to go to extreme lengths to keep it from ever happening again if something triggers her. Sort of like PTS.

And that could very likely end up being her defense, if not claiming downright abuse from her husband (which could be the case, for all we know.)
