You can, of course, drink water for free out of public water fountains. You could get some water at the public library, for example, instead of buying it in a store.
I actually had a roommate a couple years ago who, in an attempt to "save money", filled up her water bottles from the sinks on campus. I told her I'd just give her the $5.00 to more than cover the money she'd save by doing that, just to make her rest easy with using the water at our apartment, but she still insisted upon washing her clothing with the run-off from her shower...

Rehire the trolls that used to sit under the bridges! Increase the tolls randomly and hire ogres to collect the tolls. Don't just accept the name that your parents gave to you for free. Sell naming rights for yourself to the highest bidder and change your name when you get a better offer.

Well, the complaint about communism or socialism has nothing to do with it being free. Quite the opposite. Those who attack it complain that it pays for things with other peoples' money, without their valid consent.

With that in mind, having sex is not applicable to their argument. The tap water and roads, however, are.

The only things that don't cost anyone anything are sunlight and oxygen.

1.) I think you are mixing up communism with social-democracy. The joke is that tap water is obviously not communism, it is just mocking the hyperbole of the economic far right.
    and
2.) This is exactly the point - those who attack "free at the point of delivery" public services which are paid for largely through tax, might as well complain about the social provision of tap water. And imagine where that would lead us.

I'm reminded of a quote by Terry Eagleton - a society which charges its young people for education has no more right to call itself civilized than a society which charges babies for breast milk.

I'm not confused about anything. I stated what other people think, not what I think people. Those who hold the position being mocked here called communism and socialism the same thing most of the time.

And yes, I get the joke.

Logically they should complain about it. That's the whole idea behend reductio ad absurdum. Carry an idea to its logical conclusion to show how stupid it is.

My point in all of those however, is that some of the things listed really wouldn't fit into the list of complaints among the extreme right-wing, namely the free sex part. It's not socially or economically comperable.

Yes, I know it's an over-the-top joke, but I can't ignore things that are a bit off target.

Fair enough. It would be a good skill to learn though.

If you're going to complain about the sex you've got to complain about illegal music filesharing. The filesharing does have a cost (internet connection, computer, time), but none of these costs go to the artist. I mean, one could also say that the copyright on this music is uncapitalistic because it gives one artist and the recording company a monopoly on the music.
