I've read it was a delicate agreement of peace - as a result of both Germany, and the Soviet's race of arms. The Soviets were aware of Hitler's rearmanent 'programme' since '33, while they were busy recovering having purged in on civil war, and the war against their neighbor Finland around that time, in which they got hammered. In this case, the Soviets were drastically weakened by morale, and resource to wage war - while Hitler would go on to use that time of peace to complete his rearmanent.

Just like "free markets", "perfect competition", "capitalism" wouldnt you say?

Of course you are only trying to make a snarky comment here anyway.

Everyone in Germany knows about the bombings in Dresden and that the allies were getting revenge by killing many innocent German civilians who just happened to have the bad luck to be born in the wrong country at the wrong time. The neo-Nazis are not doing Germany any good by pointing that out, pretending that this fact is being hidden from the general population by the establishment, for heaven's sake we learnt about the Dresden bombings in school.

The neo-Nazis are just trying to cause trouble and are looking for a flimsy reason to spread their messed-up ideology. These are the same kind of people who will congregate on 20th April in Berlin each year at the place where Hitler's bunker used to be and celebrate the birthday of our oh so amazing Fhrer. Seriously, how deluded can you be and why should the residents of Dresden have to put up with any of this nonsense.
People should govern themselves, if they cant, if they keep mistaking the government or strangers for their parents, with all the implicit expectations of obligation and generosity, nothing, either capitalism or socialism will be possible.

The neo-nazis are just using this history to create a sense of grievance, the world over fascists of every sort need a hard luck story to motivate the hate and drive them on.

Like I said, the United States has a mixed economy; its still a "capitalist" country for all intents and purposes.

In was a non-aggression pact rather than an alliance, you are correct; clumsy use of language on my part.

I dont think there's been a capitalist economy since the industrial revolution, perhaps not even then since empire took the place of foreign policy in priming the economy like military keynesianism.

It is a country in which ideological capitalism has a lot of appeal to its voters and citizens.
