    And, that's not taking into account his amazing collection of genetic data (which allows for such interpretation, in the first place), from all the species he encountered.

    You can't get any more practical than building up a rich database for which to base any scientific work off of.
    If you're going to use this argument, then other naturalists also deserve credit since they were also "collecting genetic data".

    Why do people have to try to pump him up to be something he's not? He was a smart guy that came up with a revolutionary theory. That's it.
