    Hogwash!!!

How can you be proud of things you had absolutely no control of, or contribution in?!?!?
How about "I'm proud to be a strong woman / I'm proud I stay true to my Korean roots while also being an American" ?

be careful, I believe you when you say, you're not addicted, but it is possible, and doesn't work with I've never be been addicted therefore I never will be. I have no problem with people using drugs, but you do need to realize you're human and things change [/end annoying lecture]

Usually feeling or thinking that your better than someone else gives one pride. It can be good and bad. Being proud of yourself when someone else puts you down is a good thing. If someone bullies a person that person is always advised that they are better than those bullies. This kind of pride is good. However pride in the sense that you are better than other people because of certain things such as race, bloodline, looks, etc. is usually not so good.

Pride can bring about good or bad traits.
Integrity is brought about by pride. It is a good thing.
Arrogance is brought about by pride. It is a bad thing.
Self confidence is brought about by pride. It can be a good or bad thing.

If one achieved something by trying his hardest or one has tried his hardest yet didn't succeed he should still be proud of himself for doing his best.

Pride is what separates us from everyone else. It is bound by the same standards as values etc.

Pride is a wall originally erected us to protect oneself, but ultimately imprisons oneself if its power is not harnessed and directed toward forgiveness, understanding, compassion, etc.
