    I get to leach off the knowledge, logic and thinking of the other debater.

    ...and other times there is just an itch that must be scratched.

    I learn from them, even when it seems like it's going nowhere, i still do. Isn't that the point of these? These topics are well-discussed and there's a lot out there on most subjects yet it's different in a personal discussion isn't it? I don't expect anything wildly new that I couldn't have found elsewhere. That stuff is rare even in real life. I like finding holes in my own argument and there are plenty of people here who help me find them regularly

    There's no blood pressure problem. It's really, really fun to take an issue and to examine it from every little angle possible. If it helps me clarify how I think about something and learn some small things along the way I didn't know, I'm happy.

    I only get in when I know I'll likely get to read on a subject I enjoy. If I do, time is no constraint and I get completely lost in thinking about it... Why wouldn't I want that?

    Its fun, and the people on this forum are generally smarter and more likely to delve further into a topic than people IRL.

    Whoa SUPER NECRO!

    Watch out @Cygnus, you may have some competition on your hands.
    You hem me in -- behind and before;
    you have laid your hand upon me.
    Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
    too lofty for me to attain.

    I should probably say what I actually think of this, haha.

    Very little to nothing, beyond the satisfaction of venting some aggression which I need to from time to time. The vast majority of the time I hate debating, I see it as pointless unless there is a cut and dry answer or there is an explicit purpose to it (i.e. the conclusion of it will result in direct tangible consequences to the people involved).

    Inferior Ti FTW!
