Default Obama State of the Union

    Wow... what a great speech!

Its been a while since i heard the guy speak. i feel better...

kinda hard to get rid of that nagging feeling that something can't be 100% good. especially cus of all the politician conditioning we have... but either way. i liked the speech!

    *edit*

I didn't watch, but read the "highlights"

I've often thought they should rename the State of the Union to "Hot Air 1978, etc."

So the Government Efficiency Czar wasn't able to find sufficient cuts within departments, and now they need a bipartisan commission?

Now they want to repeal the "Don't Ask Don't Tell" policy Bill Clinton and the DNC passed while the whole gay and lesbian community gushed over the recognition back in 1993?

    Sheesus

I kind of regret missing the "scare the piss out of the sheep, booga man part of the speech." Just curious if he butchered the obligatory word nuclear as badly as Crawford's village idiot did.

i kind of remember this. i thought the bipartisan commision he talked about was about being practical in making it work.

i don't remmeber him talking about this. if he did, it must have been like 1% of the speech.

What can I say? He speaks well, he seems likeable, and I have to agree with a pretty large amount of what he says. The speech generally helped to remind me that I like what Obama wants to do, and my frustration is mostly toward congress.

I know, I got big shiny eyes especially about the student loans things, and then wanted to tear my hair out because congress will never, ever let it happen.

    This.

Then again, I'm always skeptical of what is said in speeches. He makes me want to believe him, though.

Much more impressive than the SOTU, was the Republican Q&A he did with Republicans yesterday; at their own Republican retreat. Nothing like it has really ever happened, and after, several people on the Right publicly regretted letting the White House televise it, which they almost didn't let them do.
