    But that's ridiculous.
So one deragulation is the gateway to savage anarchy?

It's pointless to think in such extremes.

    In case you missed it.

See that's what they do. Have you not seen the growing list of rights and freedoms that are under threat everyday?

You let them have one they will come back for the rest.

I know I sound a little on the crazy side but I can assure you they won't stop.

That's why my forefathers made sure I had the right to carry guns because they knew way back then the government, law makers, regulators etc... will keep taking and taking. Even if you feel like it is a good thing you should resist and resist and resist because they can't stop on their own. They can't help themselves.

No, actually. It's a small step on a long journey to brutal Fascism.

Everything is potentially a small step toward dystopia.
    That's my point.

Exactly! With bans being near the top of that list.

Eh, we better not repeal any laws then. It'd be a small step on a long journey to anarchy!

No, they aren't. Un-banning rape would be a lot higher on the list, I think.
And that's just an extreme example.
Anarchy and Fasiscm are equally bad if you ask me.

    My point precisely.

Haha, you said 'dystopia' next to your new avatar.

You know, I am about balance so I feel the need to point out that the objectors to any kind of regulations on smoking/firearms/'other rights' seem to be doing so out of the fear that other people acting out of their fears will deprive them of something.

I think extreme views and ongoing conflict/dialogue are meant to work with a republic/democracy and balance each other out until finally the law creates a nice centrist, muddled middle-of-the-road, somewhat contradictory set of rules to follow.

I like to think of that as a massage before you get screwed.

I'm in favor of the restrictions.

It catches my attention that these bans are apparently being linked to a decline in smoking.
If you ban a drug, people keep taking it, but if you bury it in bureaucracy, nobody wants it anymore.
I agree with you. We're the minority I guess.
